Title: Manager & Senior Advisor of Multilateral Institutions


Professional Capacity and Areas of Specialty: Ernest Fauster serves as ABG's Senior Advisor of Multilateral Institutions and provides leadership and significant experience in guiding and facilitating the company's work with institutions within the United Nations, the World Bank Group, the African Development Bank Group among others.

Project Management Coverage: Africa.

Experience and Sectoral Focus: Ernest joined ABG after a distinguished and diverse career with the United Nations Development Programme and has significant experience in project/ programme design, preparation, monitoring and evaluation. He also brings the team expertise in development partner coordination and the promotion of equitable human development, alleviation of poverty, integration of women in development, promotion of skills development opportunities and income generation activities. Also Ernest provides very useful skills related to negotiation with governments and development partners in relation to project/ programme development and implementation. Prior to joining ABG, Ernest served in the UNDP Regional Services Centre for East and Southern Africa (which provided support to 22 national country offices and managed selected regional projects/ programmes) as a Regional Country Advisor and Chair of the UN Development Assistance Frameworks Working Group, a multi-agency initiative involving the UN Children's Fund, United Fund for Population Activities, Food and Agriculture Organization, World Health Organization, United Nations Office of Special Project Services, World Food Programme, International Labour Organization, the United Nations Education Science Culture Organization, United Nations Women, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, United Nations AIDS, and the United Nations Information Centre.

Nationality and Languages: Ernest is a native of Gabon, and has lived and worked in Lesotho, Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Kenya, Congo, (Geneva) Switzerland and (New York) United States. He has been based in South Africa since 2009. He is fluent in English and French and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.

Education and Professional Qualifications: Ernest holds a bachelors degree in law and political science (Licence en Droit Option Sciences Politiques) from Mohammed V University in Morocco and earned a Certificate in Fiscal Decentralization and Local Governance from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University in the United States.
