Africa Business Group was responsible for the successful National Local Economic Development Week (LED) held in 2008. The week brought together 250 international delegates comprising economic development practitioners and decision-makers from government, non-governmental organisations, entrepreneurs, business development consultants and regional economic development organisations. The National Local Economic Development week entailed a four-day conference. Highlights included the launching of Awards for Excellence in Local Economic Development on day 2 and a tour to selected best practice sites in Pretoria and Johannesburg on day 4.
